Tennis Software
Players, coaches, and parents often spend hours on emails and phone calls to find tennis partners, schedule matches, or locate courts. There are also scenarios where players end up playing against the same opponents repeatedly due to a lack of awareness of other players in their region with similar skills and age. To overcome these issues, the client wanted to develop a tennis software solution that allows users to find partners, locate courts, and schedule matches with just a few clicks on their laptop or phone.
The Client
The client is a technology startup based in California, USA. They aimed to develop a web and mobile-based tennis software specifically for young tennis players who struggle to find new competition beyond their regular peer group, helping them sharpen their skills by playing against a wider variety of opponents.
Our Solution
Experion partnered with the client to define the requirements and design, develop, and deploy a comprehensive tennis software solution. Given the diverse user base of young players, parents, and coaches, extensive research was conducted, and several iterations of the UI/UX were tested to ensure ease of use for all stakeholders. The web application is highly intuitive and responsive, with multiple rounds of testing ensuring it is error-free, scalable, and high-performing. The solution suite also included native iOS and Android applications, enabling users to access the tennis software conveniently on the go.
Key functionalities of the software include:
- Finding partners by skill level, pre-defined player traits, city, or distance
- Scheduling matches by directly messaging another player or broadcasting to a group
- Adding scheduled matches to a calendar with notifications/reminders
- Capturing post-match scores and insights, including endorsements of player traits
- Searching nearby courts by city or distance and viewing court facilities
- Marking favorite partners for recurring play
After a successful pilot with select users, the application is live, and the mobile versions are available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The solution has gained a significant user base and is widely recommended as a valuable tool for tennis players looking to connect and find more opportunities to play.
Business Impact
This tennis software is one of the first sports management solutions to address the challenge of finding tennis partners for junior players, especially with functionalities that allow searching based on specific criteria like location and skill level. In early trials, 95% of users found the app intuitive and easy to use, with many recommending it to others. Since its launch, the client has received endorsements from National and State Tennis Associations as well as leading sports brands, establishing the tennis software as a key tool in the tennis community.
